Polymorfa vs Bird
Bird tells you to delete the WhatsApp account on your number before you connect it.
To connect a number you already own, Bird tells you to delete the WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business app account on it first.1 Polymorfa connects that number as a linked device, so the owner keeps the app, and serves it next to Cloud API numbers with one Meta request shape.2,3

Three reasons teams move from Bird
- 01
Keep the app, add the API
Polymorfa pairs the number as a linked device with a QuickLink, by QR code or pairing code. The owner keeps chatting from the phone while your code sends, receives, creates groups and posts to channels.2,8,9
Bird: Bird connects a number through Meta's signup only after its WhatsApp app account is deleted.1
- 02
Meta's request shape for every number
Polymorfa's Graph API takes Meta's JSON body for linked-device and Cloud API numbers alike, so code written against Meta's documentation works as it is.3,10
Bird: Bird's send endpoint uses its own shape: flat to and from fields, and templates addressed by a Bird slug.11

- 01
Create a project and a token
Sign up, create a project and generate a project token in the Console.
- 02
Connect your numbers
Send each customer a QuickLink. Linked-device numbers pair by QR or pairing code, with no account to delete; Cloud API numbers use Embedded Signup, which is in beta.2
- 03
Rewrite the send call
Replace Bird's body with Meta's JSON and post it to https://api.polymorfa.com/graph/whatsapp/v26.0/{number id}/messages.3
Questions
Can I keep using the WhatsApp Business app on my number?
Yes. A linked-device number keeps the app on the phone, and coexistence keeps it on a Cloud API number. Coexistence through Embedded Signup is in beta.2
Do I still pay Meta's fees?
Yes, for Cloud API numbers. Neither Bird nor Polymorfa removes Meta charges.18,13
How long does Polymorfa keep retrying a webhook?
Five attempts over about an hour by default, and up to eight over 24 hours when you allow them. Each delivery is signed with HMAC-SHA256.19
